Movin' right along

The Thursday morning update reads like this:

Master bedroom completely painted.
Kitchen cabinet door faces all have been primed and have the first coat of paint.

I know that doesn't sound huge, but believe me, it is.

PJ has arrived, so today the cabinets are getting their first coat. B is going to continue working on the master bath and possible painting the guest room.

Today is only a 3/4 day. The guys are headed down to Starkville for the LSU season opener against Mississippi State. Look for them on ESPN.

Check out all the "rigging" they have going on to sand the cabinet doors

What has become of the work force these days????

Just kidding Mr. Ed :-) We appreciate all you help and hard work! We'll just have to doc your pay for this time.

Things are moving on

The master bedroom looks great. The new carpet is so soft and looks so much better than what was ripped out. It's now on to the bathroom.

They also put another skim coat on the walls in the kitchen and removed all the cabinet doors to sand and prep them for painting. Tomorrow, we should have our furniture back into the bedroom, and hopefully we'll begin work on the bathroom.

The Race is On

B's new job in NJ officially starts on September 1st, so as usual, we have time sensitive projects in the works. We got home from the beach around 5pm yesterday and this morning we had new carpet installed in the master bedroom. Mr. Ed arrived to help, and he and B painted the master bdrm. B's former coworker Brian came over after work to skim coat the kitchen wall in preperation for painting it. Whew, it's been a busy day, but a great one.

We have more reinforcements headed our way for the remainder of the week. If any of you out there are bored this weekend, we welcome your help :-)

Girls are growing up

It's official, Lise' and Abri are now sharing a room. After a week at the beach, we decided to try Lise' in her big girl bed. Prior to the trip, anytime I discussed moving her into it and Abri into the crib, she was adamantly against it. My thought was that we were going to have to wait until we moved.

While at the beach, she slept on the floor, so B and I decided there was no time like the present and went for it. She didn't even blink an eye at the idea and was excited to give the baby beed to Abri. She made it the entire night too. She woke up twice but went back to sleep fast. It's definitely time to celebrate. Our baby is growing up.

The Sun has gone down

At least on our vacation. We spent 8 days in sunny Orange Beach, AL. What a time we had. We went with Papa Paul, Grandma and Uncle P.J.

The first weekend we were there, Thunder on the Gulf-a powerboat race- took place right in front of our condos. It was loud, but exciting. Abri slept right threw it on her blanket under the tent.

The majority of our other days consisted of waking up around 6 am, regards to Abri, walking on the beach, heading back up for breakfast and then back out until just after noon when we would head back upstairs for afternoon naps.

The first two days we were there, the waves were just too rough to go out into the ocean. They were beautiful, but you'd take a beating, and the jellyfish were lurking about. The next few days, they calmed down, but the jellies were still everywhere, so we opted for the pool. Lise' liked to distinguish the two options. The brown water was the ocean, and the blue water was the pool. She would have lived in the blue water if we would have let her.

On Wed, the remnants of Hurricane Dean had pushed the water up and over the sand, forming a little shallow pool behind the sand. We all headed out to watch the sunrise and to let the girls play around without the dangers of waves or jellies.

On Thursday evening, we all took a boatride on the Dolphin Express. It was a sunset cruise with the sole purpose of looking at dolphins. Lise' had a ball. We left the dock and followed a shrimper in the bay. The dolphins were everywhere and came within feet of the boat. We later went out into Perdido Bay where the captain created a large wake and the dolphins jumped and played along with us for what seemed like forever. I'll have to post pics from my dad's camera as soon as I can get them from him.

By the weekend, Lise' was a seasoned beach bum and looked forward to going to the beach to build sandcastles. Amy and Trey Faherty came to play with us on Friday. By Sat, the ocean was calm and the jellyfish had all but disappeared. We got her out in the "now green water" and she didn't want to get out.

We were sad to say goodbye, especially since our next few weeks will be filled with travel to and from NJ and the chaos of yet another move! Here are a few other pics from the trip. Enjoy!

Start Spreading the News....I'm leaving today

Too bad for you, my site doesn't come with sound :-)

We're not headed to NYC, but it's just a stone's throw away. We're moving to Nu Jeerseey....I must work on that accent.

This plant makes #5 in 7 years. We now only have one more time zone in the US to conquer (excluding HI and AK). We're all excited to live in the NE for a while. The nice part is that if it's not for us, we'll move again in just a few years. It looks like we'll have and endless list of things to do, including but not limited to NYC, so come on down. We always have room for guests.

B's there as of Sept. 1. Hopefully the girls and I will follow soon after.

More news to come as it comes our way.

In the meantime, we'll finish enjoying our week at the beach.

Lise' down and out.

After a great weekend in Baton Rouge, we returned with a sick child. Somewhere along the way, Lise' picked up tonsillitis. Poor thing has been out of commission all week. It's the first time she's ever come down with something like this, and I'm just happy B was in town to help. The past few days, she's had a fever that fluctuates between 103 and 104. Today has been much better though. She's down to 102. We're supposed to be leaving for the beach tomorrow, so that's big news. Poor Abri has missed her big sis. She crawls over to Lise's makeshift bed in the den and giggles when she gets to her. It's almost as if she's asking Lise' to come play.

The two pictures I'll attach are first of Lise' collapsing from exhaustion. She would be up and talking one minute, but the second she sat still, she'd just fall over.

The second is of her thinking she's found a hiding place in an effort to avoid taking her medicine.

Balloons in Baton Rouge

The week after we were in Baton Rouge, we headed back for the annual balloon festival. It was hotter than you can even imagine, but beautiful weather for flying. My original thought was that it would be hard to get Lise' out of bed and at the field before 7am. She surprised me though by waking each morning around 6:15 and practically running to get dressed. She couldn't get enough of the "boons."

We had the added surprise of her cousins Clare and Kaye coming for the final day. They all shared in the event together and topped it off with a trip to Coffee Call for beignets. YUM!

Road Trip

It feels like we've been on the go the past couple of weeks. The girls have really had good practice on riding in the car, something I hope comes in handy for our upcoming move.

On July 30, Maw Maw Dysart passed away, so we had a quick trip home for the services. Although our reason for being there wasn't one we looked forward to, it was great being able to spend time with everyone on that side of the family. Several of my cousins came up with the idea of "Bowling for MawMaw" night. She was an avid bowler, so we all headed to the lanes in her honor. Lise' had a ball. After each roll down the lane, she would do her own little dance. It was quite funny. My cousin Stephen even introduced her to Dr. Pepper. Let's just say she couldn't get enough of it. Thanks Stephen!

All my pictures from this even are on Dad's camera. If he still has them, I'll be sure to post one later.

Tile is Complete!

The wait is over, well part of it anyway. B completed the countertops last weekend. They look great! The only problem now is that it makes the original yellow cabinets look even worse. No worries, the paint has been purchased.
