Happy Easter!

We're still in Louisiana, and if we've missed you, I apologize. We left on April 4, drove to Durham, NC and stayed the night with Chris, Caron & Emery Misita. B left early the next morning back to NJ via the train, and I kept chugging south. The girls and I made it safely to Atlanta where we stayed the night with Jeff & Alex Mercante. After a night of pizza and movies, it was time to hit the road, this time to Daphne, AL (Mobile) to visit with the Fahertys. The two red heads had a special bond, and Lise' hated to tell her "best friend" goodbye.

There was a hitch in the road in Mobile. One of my sliding doors wouldn't close. It's all done by button, and it would close manually, but not easily. Allergies did attack in NC, so by the time we made it to AL, my head was about to rupture. Despite the door problem, I put the girls in the car and made it the final 2.5 hrs to Hammond. Whew, what a trip. The door still wasn't fixed though, so off to the shop it went. A phone call with a "solution" that required $2000 from the dealer prompted B to find his own solution. Answer, use the Internet. He found his answer, called me, and 2 minutes and a pair of pliers later, the door was working. Problem solved, at least for now.

In the other days we've been here, we've hung out with Mimi & Papa, Grandma & Papa, Abri had her first haircut (pics to come), an Easter Egg hunt with all but 3 of the 38 Wale Family, a baptism party for B's second cousin, dinner with more family, and the trip still has 3 days to go in Louisiana, 2 days in Orange Beach, 2 days in Atlanta and then back to NC followed by NJ.

All I can say is that we came, we saw, and we conquered. If we missed you this time, better luck next time. :-)

PS, no that isn't Grandma's egg tree, although it sure would be fun!

Twinkle Toes

For Christmas, Lise' was given a book with different types of dances and how to do them. Unfortunately, we went off and left the accompanying CD in the stereo in Chicago, so who knows what they could be with just a little music to go with it.

March Madness

I'm not quite sure what happened to B this month, but he's in excellent form. Check it out.

New Roof-Before & After

You'll also notice that the yard has been torn up. I went away for a night in Atlantic City with the Mary Kay girls and came home to it. The backyard is gone too.

Then yesterday, B made a surprise appearance earlier than expected. It was a beautiful day, so the kids spent the afternoon playing in the dirt while B and I redesigned the front of the house with a garden hose and loose bricks. We're now talking about having the driveway demolished and blacktopping only to the new (visualize it) flowerbed to the right of the front steps.

We're also inches away from having the permit to begin tearing down the wall in the kitchen. That means all our Ikea shelves that were added to hold various kitchen items had to be moved.
The old location of all the shelves

As for the rest of the madness, I'm leaving on Saturday with the girls for a quick 2 week trip down to Louisiana. Who knows what I'll return to find.
