Winterwonderland-Sort of

These are all swans. They are sitting on the FROZEN Navesink River.

Yes, in the "I dream of winter" world, it's pretty. The snow falls every few days, there are long winter nights where we snuggle by the fire, warm winter soups and icicles in the windows.

On the flip side, it's so cold you could scream. You have to scrape the ice off your car before you can pull out the driveway. Your fingers freeze opening the door, and your kids are climbing the walls because they have had enough of the inside of your house.

BRING ON SPRING!!!!!!

This is a pond near our house. The kids were out ice skating and playing hockey. Now Lise' wants her own pair of ice skates.

Yeah, I did it!

I finally can report that I now have Christmas pictures up on our Picture Website. Contain your excitement. I tried to comment on all of them to let you know what's going on, but for the most part, just enjoy.

We had a grand time from the moment we left NJ to the time we returned with Mr. Ed & Ms. Becky. There are more pictures too, I just have to wait until B gets home to get them off his computer. You may get to see those before Easter.

Sad News

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment,
it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.

Larry LaPrise, the man that wrote 'The Hokie Pokey' died peacefully at the age of 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in. And then the trouble started.

Shut up. You know it's funny. Now send it on to someone else and make them smile.

Baby it's COLD outside!

I don't think I can explain just how cold it is here right now. Numbers don't begin to explain the cold, so I won't go there. Just know that the high is 18, and that's without the windchill which dips below 0. All I can say is that it is a miracle the people in that plane made it out yesterday with these temps.

Have a lovely weekend.

Happy New Year!

Yes, I'm back. I have lots to say and share, but you'll just have to be patient. Since we last talked, the family has been to and from Chicago for Christmas, B's parents joined us for almost 2 weeks, and Lise' and I have turned another year older.

Unfortunately for now, you'll have to deal with the Christmas theme. The site I get my backgrounds from is down at the moment. Therefore, deal with it. I'll get to it in time.

As for pictures, here's the link for the pictures I promised from our trip into NYC at Thanksgiving with Grandma & Papa. I'll get more up as the days go on. At the moment, I'm FREEZING and I must get up and move around. It's rather cold up here.

I'll be back soon!
