BR Balloon Fest

">

As you can see, I'm still updating you on our trip to Louisiana. I can't say that I was disappointed that the balloon festival was occuring while we were there.

We were there each and every day and night. On Friday night, our friends Angie, Dan, Jacob & Brayden came to watch the glow with us. They live in Colorado, so we were especially happy to see them. Lise' and Brayden are the same age. They had so much fun. She calls them her brothers.

On Saturday morning, I took Lise' to the field and left Abri to sleep in with Grandma. Papa was already out at the field measuring targets. Lise' had a great time and even asked to ride in one. That surprised me because she wouldn't get near one the night before. Afterwards, I took her for dohnuts at Mary Lee. While there, I decided it might be fun to take her to see Mike the Tiger.

As you can see from the pics, it was more than fun. She LOVED it1 We were there early in the morning, and he was very active.

She had the most fun watching Mike swim by the window right in front of her. At first she was terrified he would get her, but once she understood he couldn't reach her through the glass, she was mesmerized. It was a treat to watch.

That night, we headed back to the field for another mass ascension and balloon glow. This time Ms. Addie & the Jackson clan joined us. Lise' had a great time with Maddie. The night before, Lise' had begged for some light up necklace that cost more than I was willing to spend (partially b/c they HAD to have the DORA blowup). Anyway, this mama got smart and headed to Michaels for the 99 cent special on glow bracelets. $3 later, I had 30 plus glowing bracelets that could be worn as such or linked to make bracelets. Cha-ching. The kids loved it.

On Sunday morning, it was one more trip to the field early in the morning. The hard part is getting up, but once you're there, you wonder how you ever could have thought about turning the alarm off.
