Adios Hanna

Well, we thought you'd might like to know that TS Hanna came and went yesterday. We made a quick run to Lowe's in the morning for extra batteries, but that was about it. We figured at worst, we'd be without power. We have a gas stove, so food wasn't a problem either. We even had time to run out to the beach, twice.

The first time was on our way home from Lowes. We wanted to see if the waves were picking up. They were, so we decided to go home for lunch and return soon after for a little longer wave watching. That's the beauty of living so close.

It was humid! I had forgotten how unruley my hair gets when you add humidity and wind. The waves would come in bands, and it was drizzling on and off too, so we didn't have the camera out the entire time. The fog was heavy too, and as the storm approached it seemed to lift. When the rain started to fall hard, we headed home and enjoyed an afternoon full of rain. That's something we hadn't seen in a while.

The winds approached 65mph, and we heard limbs fall, but for the most part, nothing exciting. We were kind of hoping a few shingles would lift allowing us to think about a new roof, but no such luck. Today, the sun is shining, and it's absolutely beautiful outside. I think the high is 82 today, and by Thur, the high will be 75. NJ weather ROCKS (for now)!
