To recap things for you, we drove down to Louisiana for our last trip. Along the way, we were able to stop and visit a few friends.
Chris and Caron Misita always welcome us with open arms. They are in Durham, NC, and the drive from us to them is about 8 hours, but after you hit traffic in Philly, Baltimore and DC, it turns into more of a 10 hour drive. Nonetheless, the accommodations are bar none, and Lise' and Abri look forward to playing with Emery every time.
Aren't they all too cute!
Next on our travels south were Amy & Michael Faherty in Daphne (just outside of Mobile). Somehow we've lived in TX and AL together, but our schedules never allowed us to get together more often. Thankfully, we were able to squeeze them this time, and because we were a short drive from LA, we were able to visit a little longer. Trey is a year older than Lise' and they had a great time playing. That was until they were playing farm, and Trey put his horse (Lise') in the barn (closet) and shut the door. Ah, the imaginations.
That was the first leg of the trip. The following days were filled with sadness and celebration of Granny's life. It was nice to be with the Landry's again.
Here's Kay, Lise', Clare and Abri
It's impossible to get a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old to look at the same time.
Following the funeral festivities, we went to Granny & Gramps' house one last time. B and Steve enjoyed trying on a few of Gramps' coats and hats.
Following this, we all headed to Houston to stay with Steve and Tanya. B and the girls remained at their house for a few days, and I drove up to Dallas for the Mary Kay convention. From what I hear, they had a good time, but unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to prove it. I do know that Abri loved Clare's turtle, and now, when she sees a picture of one anywhere, she gets excited.
